My collection

Everybody has some sort of collection if you don't have one yet I suggest you start soon because they're a load of fun.

Today after going to Venlo I managed to add one more to my collection, so what do I collect? Caps! Everytime I go away I get a cap to remember the trip. I've got some from Italy America Iceland now Holland. For me each one has a memory attached. Now I think I have 9 in my collection.

I would be interested in what everybody else's collections are so feel free to share in the comments.

Bringing Bobby Home

Another review here this time it's a film. Today everyone in my family went to sleep quite early so I decided to look through the channels and the only English channel was a film one.

Really the film wasn't the type of film if watch or recommend to someone, it doesn't exactly have a genre, or at least not one that I'm aware of. It's about a mother from Ukraine going to America to help her child have a better future and then the child gets run over and then the mother gets arrested the child gets adopted and the whole film is about what a mother has to suffer without her child and what she has to do to get him back.

I really enjoyed it actually although towards the end I was really tired I had to stay to see the end. I find it quite funny how I hadn't see a film or read a book for 5months but now in a 3day space I've done both and I didn't really chose the film and the book was fairly random yet I really enjoyed them both and it reminded me how fun books and films really are.

From the car window...

Everywhere looks the same. Now I'm not sure if this is true for everyone but I've just been in a car from England to Holland and I tell you from the window I was sat at it all look very similar, I swear if all the signs were in English and someone told me we were in England I'd probably believe them.

However once we reached our destination it was clear that we weren't in England anymore, there were red squirrels, rabbits, deer running around and the weather was really warm even at 9pm.

Pretty lame post but I've been travelling for 12 hours and I'm shattered. The moral I'm trying to say today is things aren't always what they seem like.

P.S. The place in saying at has no Wi-Fi so my posts won't be published once a day although I'm writing then that way

My favourite songs

If you ask someone for there favourite songs then they would probably have a hard time giving you there top 5 for example. I asked one of my friends and he spent over an hour and still couldn't give me 5. My list changes a fair bit but I'll give you my top 5 as it is today.

5. Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day

I really like this song as a song and the lyrics I really feel like I can connect to as I tend to enjoy walking alone at times but sometimes wish someone will join me.

4.She will be loved - Maroon 5

This song I never really listened to but put it on my phone for the travelling and it's weird on my way back I've just been thinking bout one thing in particular and this song just reminds me of it.

3. Bring me to life - Evanescence

For a long time this has been my favourite and it's not because I dislike it more I just like others more.

1=. That's what you get - Paramore

I just generally love this song in everyway and if anyone would ask me for a favourite this is what I'd tell them

1=. Firework- Katy Perry

This song, sometimes I just believe it was written about me. Every single bit of it I can relate to, I love the actual song itself ignore how it relates to me. This song cheers me up no matter how sad I feel and for the record yes I have felt like a plastic bag!

So I don't have a favourite this minute but thought I'd share my top 5.

Throne of Glass

This is a fairly recent book written by Sarah J Maas, it is a fantasy type adventure story set it the world of Erilea. Celaena is serving a life sentence in Endovier. A place worst than death. After serving a year she gets a chance of freedom. To represent the prince in a tournament against the best thieves and assassins.

Her true identity is kept secret throughout the whole competition but after a visit from the spirit of Elena in her dreams, Celaena is about to uncover her true destiny and the real reason why she was brought to the kings castle.

Although I haven't yet finished the book I think this is the best time to review it as I can tell you what I think of it so far and I'm at no risk of spoiling anything. This book has kept me reading until my eyes don't open anymore for 2nights I've just sat for over 2 hours reading it non stop. During the day although I'm not reading I'm constantly thinking about what's going to happen next.

I was just at Waterstone's with some friends when I realised I haven't read a book for 5 months, so I look and saw this one and I tell you I'm so glad I chose it because it's by far the best book I've ever read. I recommend it to everybody and I can't wait to finish it has been a great read!

7 Deadly Sins

Now I could just sit here and write an essay on each of the seven, but I don't have to as actually I've been doing that across the last week. Each of my last 7 posts have been referencing one of the sins although some more than others.

Lust - http://omaralkamil.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/is-fire.html
Pride - http://omaralkamil.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/dont-slow-down-speed-up.html
Wrath - http://omaralkamil.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/so-everybody-gets-angry-sometimes-world.html
Sloth - http://omaralkamil.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/efficiency-is-intelligent-laziness.html
Gluttony - http://omaralkamil.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/one-should-eat-to-live-not-live-to-eat.html
Greed - http://omaralkamil.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/a-bird-in-one-hand.html
Jealousy - http://omaralkamil.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/there-is-more-self-love-then-love.html

So instead I'm gonna share an amazing fact which involves the seven sins. Each of the Spongebob characters are related to one of the sins. Don't believe me? Read on.

Laziness - Obviously Patrick as he does nothing all day apart from laying down under a rock.

Wrath - Simple one this is squid ward as you can always see his anger with pretty much everything.

Greed - Another easy one, Mr Krabs,as you know he will do anything for any amount of money including selling his soul just to talk to it.

Envy - Plankton is always trying to get the krabby patty formula in almost any episode he is an because he envies Mr Krabs' success.

Gluttony - This is a fairly subtle one but refers to Gary, in the show there is a recurring motive of forgetting to feed Gary, and in one episode when Spongebob forgets he runs away. Gluttony generally refers to the overindulgence of food so although not as clear, I think fits the part.

Pride - Sandy always takes pride in everything she does or is about, she takes pride that she's from texas, or that she's a mammal or a land creature and in one episode she challenges to claim that land creatures are better than sea creatures.

Lust - Now this is a bit of a wierd one and it kinda bends the actual definition of lust, in this case it refers to the excessive love for others, Spongebob loves everybody and isn't exactly shy to admit it.

If you have any questions about any of the sins or how any of my previous posts relate to them then put them in a comment below and I'll do my best to answer them for you.

"Love is a fire...

But wether it's going to warm up your heart or burn down your house is unknown" I think this is a pretty awesome analogy for describing love, it's very unpredictable and requires constant attention but is very rewarding. But what I'm thinking about today is that if love is a fire then what's the spark?

Lust. Physical attraction, whatever you want to call it. As soon as you lay eyes on someone that you think is attractive then bam that's your spark and the pyres of love have been lit. But if you've ever started your own fire then you'll know that it doesn't go from spark to campfire instantly.

Well this exactly the same as in real life, once you're attracted to someone you go up to them flirt a bit etc. This is just like caring for your spark as it grows. Until you get your fire to a certain point it's not going to give you any warmth or whatever, once you get to that stage you just need to maintain it. Just like a relationship.

I was going to write a bit more about the "spark" of the fire but it's quite confusing to really understand it. The odds are there will be a load of sparks in your life but the majority of them won't grow to campfires, and if you don't care for a spark then it dies and the attraction is gone.

Don't slow down, Speed up!

When you do something and your not sure wether or not to continue with it, you really should. Once you've started something the worst thing you can do is to stop with it because then everything you've done becomes a waste. When you think should I stop or should I continue say to yourself, "Why was I doing this in the first place" because everything happens for a reason so don't think you've made a mistake in starting something, the only real mistake would be not to finish it.

I'm sort of in this position myself when I'm thinking why did I do this, do I finish do I leave it, and I've taken some advice from a friend and I now know what I need to do and I'll do it first chance I get. Everyone has reasons on why they're scared to do something, I'm just scared of what the outcome will be but I know that even if the worst happens then life goes on and time heals all wounds so I've conquered my fear, I've ran the race and I'm ready for the sprint finish. If any of you have your own problems or why you're afraid to speed up then post them below and I'll try my best to help.

Anger

So everybody gets angry sometimes, the world is full of rage but you won't see everyone constantly venting their anger. People tend to have different tolerance zones in which they can stay calm and it tends to be those who are most tolerate often have more anger to let out. The silliest of things or the simplest of jokes can anger people even if it wasn't intended that way and people are just generally more sensitive than others.

Personally I know I am very tolerant and can take a lot of jokes but I have my "triggers" and I'm not completely sure what they are but the send me straight to my danger zone where one thing will make me crack and then I become a real bitch. So I ask everyone to leave me alone for however long I need because I know that when I'm angry I say things I don't mean and I don't want to offend anyone.

Today I got really angry today, was with some friends they were making some jokes normally I'm fine with them but today I just got really offended even though I know they didn't mean it to offend me. When I got home got quite annoyed there as well. Just been sat by self with my music for an hour wrote this when I calmed down. Just been ticked past my limits so I'm gonna stop before I start bitching to you all

“Efficiency is intelligent laziness.”

Its quite hard to get the difference between laziness and efficiency at times, while at other times it's really easy. Like for example when someone doesn't wake up in the morning or refuses to go to places, that's clearly laziness. However there are times when 2 people can do the same task and if one finishes quicker they could have done the job either lazily or efficiently. Sometimes the laziest people can be the most efficent at the same time. If you can't be bothered spending alot of time on something or you need to rush you can often find more efficent ways of doing things easier.

Personally I'm very lazy, I rush everything and I tend to be very efficent at times, but I know that laziness isn't a good thing and I don't recommend it. If you rush things you may end up doing them twice and it's a bad habit of mine that I'm trying to break. I personally rather spend more time on something and being proud to call it my work then rushing it and it being awful. It's more satisfactory if you spend time on it and it's often more rewarding. I've found that if you jump in to something with the hope of getting it done quickly then often you'll make many mistakes and it can take twice as long. So what I'm saying is take your time with things. If it takes you longer, who care afterwards you'll have something you'd be proud of and that's more important than a little bit more time in my opinon.

"One should eat to live, not live to eat."

Everyone needs to eat, it's a basic fundament of life, however it's a blessing and a curse. I mean I know you need to eat to get the nutrients you need to survive however eating too much of it will cause you to get fat and overweight and if you don't do anything about it will cause your death. On the opposite end of the scale eating too little will cause you to get aneroxic and can eventually also cause your death. You can get other things as well for example if you eat too much sugar you may not get overweight but you will probably end up with diabities.

I suppose it's wierd that something which we need to live can cause your death, For me the worst thing is that some people know that there endangering themselves but still continue to do it. I know some people have like eating disorders or high/low metabolism but I'm not talking about them. There are people who know that what they're doing is wrong and still don't stop, and it's really a shame to see people effectively kill themselves, and its not just overeating, there are people who are constanly killing themselves with drugs, smoking, binge drinking. It really surprises me how people just throw away the gift of life without a care in the world.

"There is more self-love then love."

Jealousy is a silent killer, it can kill the strongest friendships in mere minutes, it's basically a desire to want something that isn't yours. If you see someone with someone else and you see how happy they are, no matter how happy for them you feel there is a part of you that wishes that they didn't have it or that you had it instead. For some people they feeling is small they feel the envy but don't react to it and just let it be. For others it causes them to do things that they wouldn't normally do. I know personally I feel very jealous very often and I often envy quite a lot but I would never do anything to try and take something from someone because no matter how bad the jealously feels I know that the feeling to hurt a friend would be a lot worse.

Everybody has opposite feelings to anything, although one thing may make you feel very jealous at the same time it makes you pleased that someone is happy. Although you feel bad for yourself and you wish it was yours, you also feeling good for whoever it is that your jealous of. Everytime you feel jealous of something it's like a battle between your jealousy and your good will. I know personally that jealousy can be a nightmare and that you can lose sleep over it, it makes you want to do things you don't want to, but the only way to stop it is to stop and say to yourself, "If my friend's happy then I'm happy" because if you don't accept the happiness of your friends and you will continue to feel jealous and it will cause your own upset and disruptions in your friendships. So all I'm basically saying is next time you feel jealous about something just stop and think, "Why am I so jealous?" because the odds are you're probably not, and if you are leave a comment and I'll try my best to help you.

A bird in one hand...

Is better than two in a bush. The number of times people ask the question "What would you rather have, £1 million or a 50% chance to get £10 million?" is quite high and I'm quit surprised at the number of people who would take the risk.

I know that a number of people like to take risks, personally I love it. It makes life exciting, but when it comes to risking £1 million pounds I don't see what's the point? I always say "better safe then sorry"

And the thing is about this is that if you reduce or increase the rewards then people are more or less likely to take a certain risk. I know I wouldn't but the majority of people would take the risk if you gamble with such high numbers but if you look at gambling in a real perspective the vast majority of people end up ruining their lives and few make a lot of money from it, wether it be football betting or casinos.

And gambling doesn't always have to be about money or assets but for example if you have plans to meet two different people at the same time. I guess what im saying is that taking risks isn't wrong and it's a lot of fun but be careful with what you risk. I know I'd be debated if I lost £1 million because I was too greedy.

Perseverance

So yesterday I got tickets to go with my cousin to one of the Olympic Semi-Finals for the women's basketball and I saw something amazing. The perseverance by the Australian team was very impressive and even going into the last 2mins with a 12 point difference they weren't giving up and they kept fighting until the game was over. Another example was the GB hockey team who have had a great tournament but sadly were defeated in the Semis by Netherlands, but even when they were losing by 5 or 6 goals they kept going and delivered a great performance.

I believe there is a lesson to be learnt from all this, that you should never give up. Both those teams deserve a medal in there own for sportsmanship and I wish them both the best of luck in the bronze medal match. Even though those teams didn't win gold this year in 4 years I hope they do.

You don't need to be the best to win at something you just need to put in the most effort. There is a saying "you don't know how far you have to run to chase your dreams" and it's true but as long as you keep running then one day I promise you'll get there.

Favourite Colours!

It's funny that something as simple as a favourite colour ( or a least favourite colour) can often reveal a fair bit about your personality and in this post I'm just gonna write a bit about each colour and it's significance. For me my favourites are yellow and purple and my least favourite is orange.

Red is a strong colour and is used to represent energy, lust, war and blood it is often used in logos and flags for its strength and pride. Those who like red are generally those who are considered strong maybe not physically but also mentally.

Orange is the colour of lady luck an is generally accepted as a lucky colour . It represents thoughtful control instead of impulsive decisions and is also accepted with curiosity. Those who like orange tend to enjoy exploring new things but don't just jump in but that their time.

Yellow symbolises creative energy, it's associated with joy, happiness and unrequited love. Those who like yellow often find themselves always enjoying the best life has to offer and often always have a smile on there faces.

Green is the colour of life and nature and represents self respect and well being. It's associated with fairness and justice. Those who like green are often very selfless people who will do whatever they can to help others. These people are also very safe and dislike risks and enjoy their comfort zone.

Blue is the colour of youth it represents truth inspiration and spirituality. It's represents the heavens and it's a very soothing colour. Those who like blue are often very calm and extremely patient. They are often the best friends to have as they are generally the most helpful.

Purple is the colour of good judgement, it's symbolised with magic, royalty and mystery. It is a mix of the calmness of blue and the energy of red. Those who like purple often excel at getting past problems, wether your own or someone else's. They are usually best at counterbalancing problems in order to fix them.

Pink the colour of love and beauty ,it's associated with romance . Those who like pink often are very interested in relationships long or short, they are also very calm people

Olympics

So the athletics has started for the Olympics are this is where the true competition is at. Yesterday I really enjoyed watching Bolt win his medal defending his title in an amazing 100m final. Also great to see the British track cycling team dominate the whole tournament leaving all of the other cyclists in awe of them.

It's a shame really at the number of people who dislike the majority of the Olympics, I was talking with some people yesterday and they were saying well now the real Olympics have started and just regarding the first week as a waste! It seems some people think that if it's not athletics then it's not Olympics. I think that is wrong, the Olympics are about the worlds best athletics coming together and competing for the honour of thee country. Although most athletes don't compete in track or field events it doesn't mean they shouldn't be part of the Olympics! You can be an athlete in any sport.

Honestly it must be an honour to compete in the Olympics, I for one hope that one day it would be my turn and one day I could go to Olympics. I wouldn't mind if I lost, just that feeling of representing your country among the world's best. But along with all that comes great pressure. All the media builds you up for greatness and you just let them down the feeling must be awful. That's why I would never want to compete in a home Olympics. The expectation is all on you.

I suppose in this last paragraph I'm just going to say Well Done to all the Olympic Athletes who have competing and those who are yet to compete, even those who lose because "the most important thing isn't the winning but the taking part." A further well done to all the medal winners and the teams from GB USA and especially those from China who are currently topping the medal tables. Enjoying the olympics so far and looking forward and looking forward to see the remainders of the events.

When life gives you lemons...

Make lemonade! Make the best out of a bad situation, if you try hard enough you can always find something good in anything bad, like wise you can also always find something bad in any good. The yin yang symbol helps demonstrate it, it symbolises the split between good and evil in the world and then in every evil there is good and vice versa.

They say you need to learn from your mistakes, in my opinion that's the best way to get something good from your mistakes by learning what you've done wrong you gain experience that you cant get anywhere else.

I would find it hard to believe if anyone could say try "life has never given them lemons" but surely that's the best thing about life? The excitement! Although somethings may seem bad at any time and you always think "why me?" there's always a bright side and you just have to find it. If nothing bad ever happened in life it would be incredibly boring I think. Life is like a roller coaster. Imagine a roller coaster with no ups and downs no steep turns just very slow round in a small circle. It would be boring. The best roller coasters are those that you don't know what going to happen but you know it's gonna be fun.

So all I'm saying really is if something bad happens don't complain about it, find a bright side because if you look hard enough there will be one trust me.

Inspiration

Inspiration is all around us in everyday life but sometimes it's just harder to notice. Inspiration is just something or someone encouraging you to do something for example in a football match the encouragement from your team and fans would inspire you score that shoot or make that tackle.

Normally I believe that inspiration is strongest from two sources the first being from your closest friends and your family you can trust them more people just generally feel more relaxed and can easily be inspired. The other being when you're trying to impress, when you meet new people you always want to be able to show your best, this feeling may inspire you to do things that you wouldn't do normally.

I suppose for me a few words inspire me more than others, "I trust you to..." or "I believe you can...." if a friend says one of those to me it really inspires me as it makes me feel that I'm really depended on and appreciated. Inspiration is a really powerful force and I believe it can force you to do things that not many other things do. Inspiration is a lot like encouragement the only difference being you don't need someone to be there for them to inspire you.

Passion

Everyone has a passion right? Having a passion for something is like having an intense desire for something, passion is just like having an addiction to something and although it's harmless many people can't control there passions and they let them govern their lives, and although this seems a bit extreme people there are many cases when people would chose their passion over friends or family.

So what's my passion then? To be honest I don't think I have one, but really I just think I haven't found mine yet. I just love doing anything with my friends no matter what, because anything with friends is better than anything else without friends. Although as I said everybody has a passion although you might not have found it yet. It's the same as saying everyone has hidden talent and for others it's just not been found yet.

One of the best things in my life in my opinion is finding you're passion and enjoying it. Because that's what it's there for. Anyone who wants is welcome to share their passions here, all are welcome just comment with what you live doing.

Hope

What is hope? Hope is like faith. It's only exists if you believe in it. If people don't believe in it hope then its not really there. Hope is just a belief that everything will be okay but with no actual solid reassurance. Hope is just like praying to god. Some people don't believe in it but for others it's there life. I think without hope then life has loses some of it's true meaning. How can people possibly hope to achieve anything if we have no hope. Without hope how can be sure that everything will be okay? If for example you lost a pet you'd want to hope that you'll find it right? You can't just look without convincing yourself that you'll find it. In a competition you'll never win before you convince yourself you will. "To win a competition you need to believe that your the best and if your not just pretend" People need hope, they need to hope for the best but also need to prepare for the worse. But always remember that hope for the best and if the best doesn't happen oh well there's always next time but no matter how bad things are time heals all wounds so there's no need to be sad about it.

Y.O.L.O

Today I'm just gonna write about this phrase, this phrase has been knocked around a lot and for others it means completely different things but no matter how people use it there's always some sort of similarity.

You only live once, for me I believe that this means don't take a second to regret anything that you've done, it's done. Life has no undo button so there's no point trying to find one. Everyone makes mistakes and there's no point trying to undo then because the odds are if you do you'll just make the same mistake in your life some other time.

For me it quite the similar to one of my favourite quote about living life in the present. "Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery. But today is a gift, that's why they call it Present." if we spend our lives daunting on the past or preparing for the future we'll miss the best things in life.
